What I remember the most about Colleen is her heart for Jesus. It permeated every fiber of her being- even through the screen. I never met her in person. I just “knew” her through a screen, but even through that screen I could see her heart and how it beat for her Savior. Without knowing her or her me, I fell more in love with my good shepherd and clung to the hope Colleen so gracefully carried. She always pointed to Jesus.

My date is approximate… I got to know Colleen through my daughter Sarah‘s relationship with her. She was such a wonderful, godly woman and set up a remote online book club. Facebook was still young and this was so forward thinking as we had ladies of all ages and stages, interacting and lifting one another up during this time. We would discuss the book, but often side topics came along, and it was so neat to be able to receive or share, encouraging words and ideas amongst the group. Building friendships and having fellowship whether you were a young mom with children at home, or a working mom, or waiting to become a mom, we all got to share our lives under Colleen‘s sweet leadership even though some of us were on opposite ends of the country.

After her diagnosis, Colleen’s deep desire to leave an Earthside legacy was an incredibly selfless thing for all of us to continue to be blessed by her written presence.
